Part 5 - Prepping the USB flash drive

OK, so you've got a normal BLANK USB flash drive now, right? Let's get the data we need to help repair your computer!

THIS PAGE REQUIRES YOU TO DOWNLOAD A DECENT AMOUNT OF DATA. (40MB) IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION, THEN YOU MAY WANT TO GO TO A PLACE WHERE THERE IS ONE AVAILABLE, LIKE A FRIEND'S HOUSE OR A STARBUCKS.

  1. Download this file. (Save it, do not open it.)
  2. Unzip the zip file you just downloaded to the root of the USB flash drive, so that you can see the file sleep.exe right in the USB flash drive without double clicking on any other folders in the drive.
  3. Once you are done moving the files around, then Safely Remove the USB flash drive.

Once you're ready, put the USB flash drive in the infected computer that is still off, and click here to continue the guide.

Was this step extra helpful? Please it!
